The smallest race we produce for is a school board or water district seat mailing a couple of thousand households; the largest is a congressional campaign across multiple counties. City council, mayor, community college board, county supervisor, judicial, Assembly, State Senate, congressional and ballot measure committees all run through the same production controls. A down-ballot candidate gets the same list processing, the same piece-level verification and the same tracking as a federal race, because the consequence of a bad list is proportionally worse when the margin is 200 votes.

For most Orange County mailings the shortest path is entry there rather than locally in San Diego, and for larger drops the transport pays for itself in delivery days. Below a certain volume it does not, and we will say so rather than bill for a truck that buys nothing.

A campaign does not only mail. Where the message needs to differ, version is a field in the voter file rather than a separate print run, so a twelve-version mailer schedules and costs like one.

A clean file, approved artwork and a standard postcard can move from final approval to postal entry in a small number of business days. What lengthens it is list work, multiple versions requiring separate proof cycles, and finishing. What cannot be compressed is USPS transit, so the schedule is built backward from the in-home date and the file deadline lands where it lands.
