Inland Empire Political Mail & Campaign Printing

A school board or water district seat mailing a couple of thousand households is the smallest race we produce for, and a congressional campaign across multiple counties is the largest. In between are city council, mayor, community college board, county supervisor, judicial, Assembly, State Senate and ballot measure committees, and every one of them runs through the same production controls, list processing and tracking.

Inland Empire campaign work has included races in Riverside, San Bernardino, Moreno Valley, Corona, Jurupa Valley, Temecula, Murrieta, Hemet, Perris, San Jacinto, Banning, Beaumont, Calimesa, Canyon Lake, Wildomar and Victorville, alongside programs that cross into the two counties from neighboring Assembly and congressional districts. The southwest Riverside cities in particular (Temecula, Murrieta, Wildomar and Canyon Lake) sit close to the San Diego County line, a short drive from our plant in Vista.

Inland Empire districts are geographically large and unevenly populated. A supervisorial district can run from dense urban precincts to desert communities an hour apart, which affects carrier-route qualification, the density a mailing can claim, and whether a field program can realistically walk a precinct.

The two counties are served by their own processing facilities. For larger drops, entering closer to the district shortens delivery; for smaller ones, local entry and normal transit is usually the better trade. We work it out per mailing rather than applying one policy.

Yard signs, bumper stickers, door hangers, palm cards, walk pieces, push cards, banners and campaign apparel run through the same production plan as the mail, on the same purchase order and the same schedule. We print the mail and the field material from the same artwork, so the candidate is not reconciling three vendors, three delivery dates and three versions of the logo color.

City council, school board, community college, water and fire district seats make up most of the ballot in both counties, and they are frequently the races where a campaign has the least budget and the most to lose from a bad list. A 3,000-household school board mailing receives the same CASS standardization, NCOALink processing and deduplication as a congressional program, and the same piece-level camera verification is available to it as an add-on. The controls do not scale down, only the quantity does.

Inland Empire districts contain some of the highest-density residential routes in Southern California alongside genuinely rural ones. That mix is exactly where carrier-route, high-density and saturation qualification are worth testing rather than assuming, because a district that looks uniformly suburban on a map often contains routes that qualify for materially better rates. On a large drop that testing is usually worth more than any production decision.

Assembly, Senate and congressional districts routinely span both counties, and each county registrar exports voter data in its own format with its own field names and its own conventions for suffixes and unit numbers. Reconciling those into a single deduplicated mail file is where the errors live, and it is done before anything prints, with a report of what matched and what did not.

A geographically large district changes the field plan more than the mail plan, and yard sign quantities matter more when precincts are twenty minutes apart. We produce signs, door hangers and apparel with the mail.
