Carrier route density: finishing the precincts you already picked

USPS prices mail by how many pieces land on each carrier route, so a route sitting a few households short of a threshold pays the higher price on every piece, not just the missing ones. Most voter-file pulls have them.

We find those routes before the drop and price the mailing both ways, as submitted and with the short routes filled, so you can decide with the numbers in front of you. When it pays, you are adding voters in precincts you already chose to target, sometimes at little or no net postage cost. When it does not pay, the report says so. How route density pricing works.
