About roll labels
Roll labels and stickers cover a lot of small jobs for a campaign or brand: the merch-table sticker a volunteer wears home, the logo seal on a fundraising envelope, the packaging label that goes on by hand or by machine on a line. They print in full CMYK plus a dedicated white ink at 1200 dpi, which is what lets a design stay bright and opaque even on a custom clear or brushed-metallic stock, and they come off the press already on a roll instead of a flat sheet, so they are ready to peel and apply the moment they land.
The real decisions on a label order are shape, material, and adhesive, and they are driven entirely by where the label has to live. Circles, ovals, squares, and rounded rectangles are the stock shapes, but because we contour-cut on a digital finisher rather than with steel dies, any custom outline runs at the same setup with no tooling charge: a bottle silhouette, a badge, a mascot, whatever the art calls for. Material follows the surface: paper for indoor, short-life, cost-sensitive runs; white BOPP film when the label has to survive weather, moisture, a cooler, or handling; clear and metallic films quote as a custom stock when the substrate should show through or the piece needs to read as premium.
After printing, the web runs through lamination for a gloss or matte scuff-and-moisture guard, then a digital contour cut traces each label's outline with optical registration so the cut lands on the art, not next to it. The surrounding matrix is stripped away, the roll is slit to the ordered width, and it is rewound onto cores in the wind direction and unwind position the job needs. Print width runs up to 4.95 inches on media up to 5.12 inches wide, which covers the vast majority of sticker and label work in a single pass.
Orientation is the detail that trips up first-time buyers, and it only matters when a machine is involved. A person peeling stickers by hand does not care which way the roll turns, but a label applicator does: it expects the labels facing a specific way and unwinding from a specific position, and a roll wound the wrong way has to be rewound before it will run. When we know the job feeds an applicator we set the wind and unwind position to spec; when it is hand-applied we optimize the roll for easy peeling and count instead.
End to end, a roll label job runs art to shipment on one line: we preflight the artwork and confirm the cut outline and bleed, print CMYK plus white, laminate, contour-cut and strip the matrix, slit and rewind to the right core and direction, and quality-check the roll before it ships. Because these are print-only, there is no list or postage stage; the deliverable is finished rolls, boxed and labeled with the count and the shape, typically in about five to seven business days once the shape and finish are locked.

Common uses for roll labels
Campaign & cause stickers
Merch-table stickers and volunteer badges that supporters peel off the roll to wear, hand out or put on a water bottle, printed to match the rest of the campaign's materials.
Packaging & sealing
Brand labels and package seals fed by hand or by applicator on a fulfillment line, on white BOPP film when the box sees moisture or cold, or on a custom clear film when the label should disappear into the packaging.
Product & brand labels
Bottle, jar, and container labels with white ink under a custom clear or metallic stock so colors stay true, contour-cut to a custom silhouette without paying for a die.
Event & inventory labeling
Name tags, wristband alternatives, table numbers, and asset or shelf labels produced on demand and rolled for quick peel-and-stick at the venue.
Durable & outdoor labels
Warning, spec, and equipment labels on laminated white BOPP film that shrug off weather, handling, and wipe-downs far longer than a paper stock would.
Before you order
- Circles, ovals, squares, rounded rectangles, and fully custom die-cut shapes all run on rolls
- Contour-cut digitally with no steel die, so custom shapes carry no tooling or die charge
- Print width up to 4.95 in on media up to 5.12 in wide, at 1200 dpi
- CMYK plus a white ink layer so art stays opaque on custom clear and metallic stock
- Paper for indoor and short-life; white BOPP film for outdoor, moisture, and cooler durability; clear and metallic quote as custom stocks
- Removable adhesive on request; tell us the surface and the label's expected life
- Gloss or matte lamination adds scuff and moisture protection over the print
- Wind direction and unwind position matter for applicators; hand-applied jobs can ignore them
- Print-only product on a 5-7 business day schedule; not a mailpiece and carries no postage

Why this is not the cheapest price you will find
Every job goes through the same checks, however small it is. We are a USPS Full-Service certified mail service provider, and the judgment that comes with that is applied to a 500-piece order the same way it is to a 500,000-piece one.
- Your artwork is checked before it prints. Size, bleed, resolution, color space, and on a mailpiece the address and barcode clearances that decide the postage rate.
- A proof is emailed and nothing prints until you approve it. No job goes to press on an assumption.
- If it mails, the postage is planned, not discovered. Piece shape, list quality, presort and entry point are what set that bill, and they are decided before anything is printed.
Roll Labels FAQs
Paper or film labels: which should I choose?
Paper for indoor, short-life, and cost-sensitive runs; white BOPP film for anything that faces weather, moisture, cold, or repeated handling. Tell us the surface it sticks to and how long it needs to last and we will recommend the right stock and adhesive.
Do custom shapes cost extra or need a die?
No. We contour-cut digitally with optical registration instead of steel dies, so a custom outline runs at the same setup as a stock circle or square with no tooling or die charge. Send the shape in the art and we cut to it.
Can you print clear or metallic labels?
Yes, as a custom stock; ask on the quote. We print CMYK plus a dedicated white ink, so on clear film or metallic stock the white lays down first and keeps your colors opaque instead of washing out against the substrate. It is the right choice for a see-through or premium look.
How big can a roll label be?
Print width runs up to 4.95 inches on media up to 5.12 inches wide, which covers almost all sticker and label work. For anything larger than that we would move you to a flat sheet or a different product, and we will flag it at quote time.
Does roll direction really matter?
Only if a machine applies them. Applicators expect the labels facing a set way and unwinding from a set position, so we wind to spec when you tell us the equipment. Hand-applied jobs can ignore direction entirely; we just optimize the roll for easy peeling.
Can labels seal a self-mailer or envelope for USPS?
Not as the USPS closure. The tabs that hold a self-mailer closed have their own approved materials and DMM positions, which we handle on the mailer itself. A decorative brand seal can go on in addition, and if sealing is the real goal we spec the compliant tab on the mail side.
