A real check of a public sample: the USPS postcard layout template from our Mailpiece Templates page. The preflight engine found RGB color on both pages, so the file grades B. The address on it is the template's sample address, not a customer's.
What it does
Upload a PDF, JPG, PNG or TIFF, choose what you are printing, and the Print File Check runs the preflight engine behind the Plavidian job builder on every page: the finished size, bleed and safe zone for that piece, image resolution at the printed size, color mode, fonts, total ink, small and reversed text, thin lines, spot and registration color, overprint and crop marks. Each finding says why it matters on paper and how to fix it in your design program, the problem areas are outlined on a preview of each page, and the file gets a grade from A to F. It is a report only: nothing is changed or sent back, and the file is deleted after the check.
Why it matters
Most proof delays come from a handful of file problems: no bleed, low-resolution photos, RGB color and fonts that are not embedded. Catching them before you order saves a round of proofs.
